iPhone

have any of you checked out this phone? I know I don't NEED an iPhone, but with everything it offers, I might just want one. Randy wants one really badly because of the software he can add and the work stuff he can do when he is on a trip. I personally don't need anything that massive in technology (I seem to be hanging out on the outskirts of that circle, not completely out of it, but definitely not in the middle of that circle. I don't even know what this Twitter is everyone keeps talking about.) Anyway, right now we have Verizon. Verizon has GPS on their Razor phones. For me, that is AWESOME. Living where I do, you never know if you have changed cities/towns and it is just nice to have Jane (that is what I named the voice) guiding me in the right direction. The AT&T network does not carry GPS on the razors. They only have them on the blackberry and iPhone. It is more expensive to get a blackberry. The main thing I am worried about is dropping it. Now you know, I have dropped my pretty pink razor MANY times and it keeps ticking. I can't say I trust the same to happen with the iPhone. They do have a rubber covering that would help in a fall, but I don't know what I should do. Oh and while in the store, I checked out my blog and it came up great even with the pictures.

SO

1) Should I just get the iPhone (and probably look super cool even though I probably wouldn't be able to run half the things on the phone)? A couple of the reviews say it is a chick magnet;)

2) Spend more and get the Blackberry?

OR

3)Get a Razr and use the money I save in the monthly plan (which would happen after about 7-8 months) and get a Garmin, TomTom, or Sony nav-u? Which work really well, but it is also wouldn't be attached to me like a cell phone is so would I need it in a clutch and oh it is in the other car? Or is this even a factor. Last time I checked, I lived MANY years without a GPS. Of course, once you have one, I think it would be SUper hard to go back to not having one.

i-phone!!!!!!!

I am not-so-patiently waiting for my 3G!!!!!

Then, you can be on twitter!

My BIL has the original i-phone. I felt, like you, Id never be able yo use it all....YES YOU WILL!!! It is SO EASY (and addictive) !!!!!

I roiginally wanted a palm centro, but, also like you, decide GPS would be very useful. Then, I could have my phone, i-pod, and nuvi all replaced with ONE DEVICE!!!! How awesome is that???

Cross your fingers for me that Rich's conservative financial policies don't come flooding back to him! He is currently on-board with us both getting one, but I worry that his frugality will eventually get the better of him. :)

I don't have a cell phone. Or a GPS. And when my mom visited and wanted to only follow her GPS directions and not listen to me tell her how to get places, and it was telling her to go down tiny back streets through neighborhoods instead of down the main thoroughfares, I wondered how helpful it really was. My brother had some fancy phone and did lots of web-surfing to check directions and restaurants and other stuff around town while we were out and about. I'm bad enough at my own decisions - but the iPHone seems really convenient if you want/need all that stuff. (i really like the new header!)

It seems it would be convenient to have all the stuff on one device....I would just buy the insurance on the breakage for the iPhone and GO FOR IT! :)

I personally like having a separate GPS. I use it SO MUCH! I think once you got one you would like it better than using your cell phone. Plus it is a one time cost and no monthly fees or usage charges! It has been a Godsend for all of Alex's out of town gym meets. No more paper maps to read while driving.

As for phones....Not much advice. I like mine to make calls and accept calls. I love having a cell phone, but I'm not caught up in all the bells and whistles and texting and such.

I'd go for the iPhone. We used a borrowed garbin for our recent vacation and it was really nice. But bulky. I would prefer something smaller. And I'm all about something that lets me check blog comments from the playground!

I guess I am the wierd one that doesn't really care about any of that. I have a razor and am fine with it. I heard the i-phone is having some technical difficulties, but knowing apple they will have them fixed and the next better phone will be out in a year. I am also one to wait until those things are cheaper once they are not longer fad items (too bad that generally doesn't happen with apple items).

I'm a huge apple fan, but can't seem to find myself spending that kind of $ on such a thing. I'm with Andrea, I don't want any of it anymore. I have a cellphone, and I want to get rid of it too. All this stuff seems to be a bigger headache for me than actually doing any good. I find mapquest to be just as easy/time consuming. I look up where I'm going and call to double check the directions before hand.

Mmmmm....that's a tough decision to make on your part! You'll have to tell us which one you decide to go with!
