BLACK FRIDAY

**quick Paige update**
Paige has finally released!! Yay! Her issues are correcting themselves and she is getting better everyday.

How many of you braved the fabulous "Black Friday"? I LOVE to go shopping on this day. I don't mind the crowds and I don't care if I get Christmas presents or just things for me. I just love being out today. In the past, we have taken both girls out, then just one and this year, Randy decided at the last minute (he said he didn't want to get the girls up, but I think it was more him than the girls) he didn't want to go and would stay home with the girls. Woooho! I found a good amount of time at my favorite, Target. My old friend Target and I haven't spent much time together lately, so it was nice to just look around and hang out. If you didn't hang out in the toy department/electronic section, it was a very enjoyable trip. I found a few deals, although I can't photograph them or tell you about them because they are Christmas presents.

Then it was off to the mall. Again, very tame. Old Navy had a few sales, but nothing to scream home about. I started to look at the new trendy sweaters and I just have an issue spending 1) over $30 for a sweater from Old Navy, and 2) wear anything when I know I am just going to have PBJ on it by the end of the day or snot or something worse. So I bought yet another long sleeved knit shirt, only this time I went a little wild and got a scoop neck instead of v neck. I know what you are thinking, wow she is a wild one. I must admit, I do have a few wild moments!

It was then off to Home Depot. Now I wish I could say I don't frequent these types of shops, but since we have owned a house, I feel like I live there more than here. And what is worse, we probably pay them (Home Depot/Lowe's) more in a month than some people pay in rent). But I actually went there for a spotlight. We were told last year we had to come the day after Thanksgiving in order to get those lights or they sell out. So mission accomplished.

Then it was off to Staples, TJ Maxx and Joann Fabrics. Did you know Staples does not sell the photo envelopes? Seems like should sell it. The BX carried it in their envelope section in Alaska. I figured if that tiny BX sold them, surely a large office supply store should also. Not so much. TJ Maxx is right next door. I always have to go in there and check for polish pottery...Damn, strike two. Finally, on to Joann Fabrics. I thought I was cool, I had the 20% coupon in hand off of then ENTIRE order and a 50% off coupon for one item. I was ready to spend money. I had a few things picked out and then realized the line to check out went halfway around the store. I had to be home in under an hour so Randy could leave on a trip... Damn, strike three.

I figured three strikes you are out right? So I headed home. I had a really good morning. I also came home just in time to put the girls down for a nap and have a little quiet time. I am regretting not taking a nap when they did. Oh well, TWO hours until bed time. Ironically it was a very relaxing day. I normally have ALL of my Christmas shopping done by Thanksgiving. This is a new experience for me to be starting after Thanksgiving. I have started though, so I am inspired at least.

Who else braved the day?? Am I the only crazy one out there?

I have only gone out on Black Friday once - a long time ago. And I didn't enjoy it. I don't like crowds and I don't like the frenzy. I'll gladly pass up the sale price to stay out of it!

Would you believe I have NEVER gone shopping on Black Friday? Never! I cannot stand crowds. I cannot stand parking at the back of the lot. I cannot stand standing in lines. Just can't take it. Although, when I heard Kohl's opened at 4 a.m. I almost considered it (I was up at 4:30 to get to the airport!)

I'm glad you got some good stuff!

I went to Kolhs and was ready to walk out, but Jennie was in line (and had been for an hour) so I slipped in with her, had a nice 40 minute conversation and took home my party dress! We went to the Depot to look at trees and came hom.

I went! I go every year, but this is the first year I got up at 5am. Normally I go around 7ish. I also went to Target, Kohls, Menards, Toys R Us, Best Buy, K-Mart...Got some GREAT deals!

It wasn't too bad. I convinced my Step-Dad to go with me and he would drop me off at the door, park, and then get in line as soon as he got in the store and I would shop. Then I would switch places in line with him and he would walk around. I think I'll take him every year! What a guy!

A true, committed shopper. I really like you!

Black Friday is great! Aside from the great deals, it's almost like a competitive treasure hunt. Sometimes you'll find the bargains first, and sometimes not. Regardless, it's just fun to be a part of it all.

I have to admit that if I hadn't been staying at my parents' house for the holiday, I doubt that I would go out to the stores near where I live. The engineers who planned the layout of the mall and surrounding stores should have been burned at the stake. I would be much more discouraged to be out in the hustle and bustle when it could take up to 20 minutes just to make a left hand turn at some intersections. I understand how easy it would be to stay in my warm bed at 4:00a.m.
