It is evil, evil I say!

What is evil you say? The DAMN GYM IS EVIL. I am sitting on the couch with a ice pack stuck to my back side, alternating with a hot water bottle. I think my sciatic is messed up AGAIN. It is all the fault of the gym.

I was going along fine in my life being UN-toned, and winded when by the time I made it up the stairs. But no, Randy got on this health kick and sucked me in. Well, my lower back/ass catapulted me back to reality.

I think Madison is already tired of hearing "Madison could you come here for a minute? Could you pick that up for me, or could you move that for me?"

Actually I am not completely against the membership. I haven't even had the sessions with the personal trainer yet. I guess that will wait. I think I know the root of the evil. I have been riding the sit down bike. You know the one that has an actual seat with a back? I think the seat is enough at an angle that it aggravated my backside. Another Damn! I love that bike. I can sit securely, ride the bike and read (because believe me it isn't pretty for me to walk on treadmills and read). The reading is like an oasis for me. I can get engrossed in a book and not realize how long I have been exercising. That is a great thing for me since my main issues with working out is BOREDOM.

I just love having a soapbox for venting. Of course today, I wouldn't even be able to climb on the box to vent, but oh well, maybe tomorrow!

Sorry you are hurting. Hopefully you can recover quickly!! I have attempted riding on the upright bike and it goes ok. I get too distracted by the programs on the bike to read and get no reading done at the gym.

Maybe you need to get an ipod or something and have it filled with good work out tunes! That is the number one thing that will keep me working out (well, back in the day when I WAS working out. Which was, like, never...so maybe you shouldn't take my advice!)

I hope your back gets better soon!

Wow, that sounds so much like me! After having kids I love any time I can get to myself to read. I love a long line at the grocery store to read the tabloids....I loved the Glucose tests with my babies where I had a WHOLE hour to sit and wait at the doctors office. Amazing how much we change from our Pre-child selves.

Hope you're feeling better. Keep it up!!!!!

I have had THE SAME problem with that particular bike. Have you tried the other (spin stlye) ones? I have found those to be much more easier on the back. It's all Randy's fault!!!!

Hope you get back to your normal self!
