Thanks Colleen for taking this picture of me!
Madison and Cait were invited to an ice skating birthday party today. You know what that translates to? Me in ice skates.
I wasn't sure how it was all going to go down. I have only been on ice a handful of times in my entire life and now I was going to have to keep a four year old, two year old and me up on a total of six blades.. OH Boy!
Colleen, the party host greeted us as we came in and let me know there were MANY older girls who would help out. I thought "great, these girls are going to be forced to help when really they just want to be skating themselves." Much to my relief, the older girls WANTED to help my girls and kept asking to take them...GREAT! Madison had a ball. The rink had taken PVC pipes, placed them into a walker of sorts and it allowed you to hang on and not fall over. Madison grabbed on and the big girls pushed her around the rink. Cait on the other hand didn't really just grab on, she would be described better as HOLDING ON FOR DEAR LIFE! I had Cait the entire time, but her feet never had her. They were going every which way. She seemed to enjoy it for the most part, but it was quite comical. I was just glad for the walker. Not so much for them, but for me.
The last time around, I convinced Madison she didn't need the big girls to push her. Slowly but surely, she made it all around the rink by herself (and of course the trusted walker). She was extremely proud of herself as I was also. She wants to take Randy back to watch her. I was very shocked to how quickly she caught on. It was a really fun afternoon (despite the very cold arena)
All ready and waiting for me to get my skates on!
Aww, I really liked this one.

I had tears reading this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!They were sooooo cute there!! Thanks Tracy for being a trooper. And thanks for helping me remember my girls when they were the same age!!!!! I love your kids....col
Cute! It must be such a thrill experiencing all the firsts with those sweet girls :0)
Tracy, thanks for linking my blog to yours. Such a compliment. :) To cross out text, you need to put in a little html code. The tag is "del". Then at the end of what you want to cross out, you put, "/del" But instead of quotes, put it between these <>. You might want to do a google search for simple html coding just to get a general idea. My husband knows html & I generally cheat by getting him to tell me what to do. Good luck-- by the way I love your beautiful header with all the black & white pics of your kids!
What great pictures. Oh those eyes! And the black and white photos? You are too much!
It sounds like you had a great day trying something new with your kids. Who knew that you would ever get so close to loving PVC pipe? Ever? What a great help for new beginners!
The photos are really great! Good job. I had no idea those walker things existed! Very neat.
