So I am not so good at resolutions. It isn't that I just give up, it is more that I forget. So this year, I am not so much as doing a resolution, but a new motto.
FINISH WHAT I START!
Now, that isn't directed towards anything huge. I get these wild hairs up my hiney and start "things" Most of the time they are well intentioned, laundry, thank you cards from Christmas, putting all of the Christmas back where it goes, cleaning the office, dinner dishes, Cait's scrapbook, the last five pages in Madison's book, quilts for my own girls that are started and not finished, and as simple as straightening a little everyday. I am always gun-ho to start the project and somewhere in the middle I get distracted. Most of the time it is the girls. I won't lie, sometimes I just fizzle out. Mostly the girls end up pulling me away. Then it is a couple days or weeks before I get back to the project. Then I am almost starting over again. Somehow, the piles are all mixed up or I forgot exactly how I was doing something. So in 2008, I am hoping to 'finish what I start' and kind of 'not start (anything)until I finish.' Good luck right? We will see how long it lasts!

I am in the same boat. I will wake up and say, "All I need to do today is get four thank-you notes written, two bills paid and the dining room table cleaned off." By the end of the day, I got the bills paid, only half a thank you note written, more crap piled on the dining room table. Also, there are two more rooms destroyed. It is like one step forward, three steps back. Every. Damn. Day.
I found this post inspiring though...it is a good motto! It may at least keep you focused on what to do next (and me too!)
