Whole lotta catch up..

Well, we are back from the freakin' cold country. It was super cold. Oh well, I guess I can't complain, it was January in Illinois right?

A week of recap..

Remember the water situation? Well, it is finally fixed but picture this.

Last Wednesday, I filled a sink full of the bottled water we have brought in. I had to give myself a little sponge bath and a sink hair washing. I was smiling to myself the entire time. I never imagined having to have sink bath while owning my own home. Now, I am no stranger to the sink bath. Some of my fondest memories growing up were camping at Hatfield (somewhere in Wisconsin). Now this was real camping. Taking a bath with a sponge and a bucket full of water, and an outhouse that they considered a toilet, I loved that, but also knew going in the conditions.. Not so much with owning a home. Anyway, the problem was finally detected. Our well, pump outside went out. Oh my, talk about expensive. It was still less than if our well had gone dry and we would have had to have a new one dug, so that is a bright side. We now have a full stream of water, woohoo!

Wednesday, the trip home was uneventful. Randy took us to the airport and all was well. We stopped by Edwardsville to see Randy's family on our way home. Randy's dad seems to be doing well. He looks good and was in good spirits while we were there. We tried not to stay too long because I can only imagine how draining toddlers/company can be to someone.

Randy Sr and the girls.

This is Randy's brother. I put this on there not because of him or Madison.. Look at Cait's expression.. It screams, "I am so tired of mommy's camera!"

Thursday, the girls had a blast. They ate everything they could get their hands on and late in the evening we went to see Aunt Kimmy at gymnastics. They get to jump on the equipment, so they were good and tired for bed. About 11:00, Cait woke up and said "bieyee fo" (translation: Belly Full), I told her that she would be hungry in the morning and go to bed. In the back of my mind, I wondered if maybe it hurt, but didn't want to bring it up to her because I didn't want to deal with her agreeing with me and causing more of a scene..(*note to self: Next time, listen to my "mommy gut") About 12:15, she sat straight up in bed and guess what came next? Oh yeah I got to play the great reflex game called CATCH THE VOMIT IN MY HANDS! I don't know why I do it, I swear it is just a reflex. The saint known as my mom was in the room in a flash with towels and much needed help. She had Cait all cleaned up and changed before I could even get the bed stripped. Then she told me to help Cait and SHE washed out all the vomit off of everything. Man, she is some woman! We all eventually calmed down and headed back to bed. There is nothing like the sound of a kid sitting straight up in bed is there? Friday, she was just blah. She just lounged around and didn't really do much. I took her temperature after her nap, and she seemed to have one, but upon further inspection, I realized her little armpit was hot from napping under a mink blanket (the temp went down and never came back) The rest of Friday we just chilled.

In true blogging fashion, I had to take a picture of my poor Cait with her "pitup bul" (spit up bowl) Obviously nothing a good thumb can't fix!

Madison getting to hold Baby Paige. She was SO excited. This is the best picture I could get of the three grandkids. Bummer, maybe next time?

Saturday was just quality grandparent time. Sunday, we went to church. I love going to my church. I love how familiar it is. I know so many people and it just feels like home. We started going to church out here and the preacher out here ended up being good friends with my preacher in IL. It was totally by chance, but I thought that was pretty cool. We headed home Sunday evening. Randy was suppose to pick us up, but sent his mother instead. He was home sick. Great, going home to someone sick is not my way of wrapping up a rejuv-weekend. (he actually went to the doctor today and they said he had one of the worst cases of Tonsillitis they had seen, alright I will give him some slack. They gave him VICODIN for his tonsils.. Seriously? I didn't get any of that for popping out a kid, Renee had her gallbladder out and they didn't give her any of that.)

And now on to Monday.. Today I got a phone call from a friend of mine at 4:15 am. She said there were already five people in line and I should get there. Then my brain did a little double take and I realized what she was saying. Today was the day I was to sign Madison up for Kindergarten. The registration was at 8. I had planned to get there about 6am. WRONG, by the time I got there (at 5:05am), there were 9 cars in front of me waiting to put the registration papers in. Now this is a good Christian school, but that is it, just a private school. The east coast is so competitive. So I put her name down, gave the money and was out the door before 8:30. That was all on NO coffee. I didn't have time, I had to get in line! (If you think I am crazy, the first two cars in line got there at 11pm the night before. Are you joking? That seems way over the top to me!) So we will see. Madison looked at me when I got home and said, "Mommy, did I get a spot at the school with the fish?" (there was a fish in the classroom when we visited) I was like I hope so. I guess time will tell. It was so sad the way she said it. So I made it home and finally got my well deserve cup of coffee.

Randy and the girls are nestled in their beds and I am back here with my friend the keyboard and his sister the computer screen. We seem to be such great friends, I sure missed them on my weekend home (my mom probably wouldn't know how to turn on a computer let alone own one. She isn't so much into the computer age)

Stay tuned for more pictures..

Also, have y'all checked out Google Reader? It is amazing (thank you Katie) You can put all of your blogs into this reader and it automatically tells you when someone updates.. What a time saver. Now I don't have to pester your blogs 30 (give or take a few!) times a day. LURRVV IT!

Oh and if some of this doesn't make sense.. Remember I have been up for a very LONG time, didn't get my coffee until after I had been up for 5 hours, enough said!

Whoa! Where to start. That post was PACKED. Ok, the photo of Cait being sick of the camera: hilarious. Your bro-in-law and Randy's Dad: look like identical twins one generation apart. Being away from home with a sick kiddo: TOTALLY SUCKS. At least you were with family. Oh that baby! Snuggling a newborn is good for the soul.

And that kindergarten registration stuff: absolutely nuts. Seriously, doesn't that make you want to move back to IL? We're not nearly so cutthroat, at least not until high school ;-)

Next time you come through the Lou, if you need a place to play, or eat lunch, or dinner, or whatever, we could get together.

(I just got nervous tummy. It's like I just asked you out on a date. NO PRESSURE!)

OMG! That had too much info! The sleeping kid next to the big bowl was just sad.....Poor Cait!

I hope everyone stays/gets HEALTHY! I am not a big fan of December and January this year!

I hope you get some sleep tonight!
