I am very skeptical when it comes to reading one of the books Oprah has in her book club. It isn't that I don't like her (hello, she is on my dvr everyday), it just seems like I am selling out if I read it. (I am not condemning you if you do read them, I just feel weird about it. I feel like I am taking someone else's opinion and not looking into what I really want to read. Does that make sense?) So anyway, I have to say that Oprah seems to pick out some pretty good books.
I am hot and heavy into The Secret (thank you so much Renee for letting me use it and talking to me about it.) It is as Renee pointed out, just a really nice eye opener. It is a short little book with a lot of quotes. So it is pretty easy to read. I am intrigued with some of the quotes and ideas. The main idea is THE LAW OF ATTRACTION. I won't bore you with what I got out of it (or at least so far) but I is for me a nice kick in the but for positiveness. We will see how long it lasts and if I can make it a unconscious act, but I fall into negative thoughts and then they just seem to pile on each other. I am excited to try out some of the ideas.
Also, I am reading Pillars of the Earth and I am enamored by it. I am less than half way, but I find myself thinking of it during the day when I am not even reading it. That is a good book if you are thinking about it even when it is on your nightstand!
And finally, I think I am going to go out and purchase the current Oprah club book. It is A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle. It seems like it would be very interesting.

I'll have to look into those books, thanks!
It actually drives me a little crazy that someone is making money off the age old idea regarding the power of positive thought. I have subscribed to the theory most of my life, maybe I should have written a book and made a ton of money.
I used to subscribe to that theory too, but I seemed to have jumped off course. It is a nice way to redirect me back on course.
