How demented is my brain to get a natural high from not only doing the laundry, but also getting it put away in two days? (I hang a lot to dry and it takes at least overnight).
And on the subject of laundry...
Do any of you have a lost sock pile? I REALLY dislike folding socks, so I don't make too much of an effort to find the matches. Over the course of the last couple months, I have acquired a large laundry basket FULL of lonely socks. Tonight I also found mates for most of them and put them away. Wow, I rock (or just a little demented?) I know 10 years ago, I wouldn't have gotten a high from getting the laundry put away. I was still using my parents washer and soap on weekends when I came home from college.

I have a lost sock pile too....but I never seem to get many of them matched. It seems like the pile just grows and grows and no matches ever appear. Where do they GO?
I think the high you are getting is because as stay at home moms we never EVER manage to get ANYTHING completed. Or, if we do, some little kid is undoing something else we've already done. So, to actually see something get accomplished, THAT is definitely worth getting a high over!
I have a "lonely sock" pile in each sock drawer, in one corner. When I'm putting away the socks, I check any singles against the singles that are already there--and if there are no matches, the singles join the pile.
I know the "socks getting lost in the dryer" thing is an established joke, but it still surprises me. WHERE DO THEY GO?
Not demented. I would get the same high if I could ever manage that achievement!
Socks - i manage it much like Swistle. It would drive me NUTS to have to deal with the "pile" I hate for things to not be put away. so, even if the sock islonely, at least it is in its place, andits friend is bound to show up eventually.
