Well, let me start by saying I am back from home and I am sending out good vibes that it has stopped "pouring" for a while. Thanks for the good vibes.
Here are a few before pictures I took tonight. Excuse the mess, I am well into the packing when I realized I had not taken any photos.
Taken from the family room. Where those two pictures are on the left, that will end up being a counter space for the computer. with cabinets above.
This is looking in from the garage. It will house our new mud room. It will go from the door on the left to that broom on the right. We are probably closing off the current door and moving it over 3 or 4 feet.
Randy started demo while I was home. He wanted to check the bulk heads to see what was in them.. EMPTY which is great.
Cait wanted to know why I wasn't taking pictures of her. This is our powder room. See that extra knob in the background? It is a weird closet. We are taking that out along with everything behind the bathroom door. We are giving the kitchen more room.
Taken from the kitchen sink looking in the dining room. Abby started to get nervous and was following me around as I took pictures. Those cabinets are the only ones we are saving. We bought those when we moved in to last until we could change the kitchen.
a better picture. These will go in the basement. This wall is going bye bye. We have to have it beamed because it is a load bearing wall. Those lines next to the opening are paint samples. I am trying to figure out a color. I keep marking them off as I pass at different times of the day.
I rushed back for our kitchen appointment today. He called last night and said his dad got sick and he had to go to Ohio for the weekend. So I could have taken the kids and we could have stayed home longer. BUMMER. Oh well, I guess Randy doesn't mind because he has more hands (that would be mine and not the girls) to help get this thing under way. I am hoping that all of our bumps in the road are happening NOW BEFORE we actually start. We have a little bright turn of events. We are going to hardwood the kitchen and we think they may be under the tile. There is a sub floor under the tile and then there is something else. We think there may be original hardwood. Keep your fingers crossed that it is in fact hardwood throughout and that it is in good shape.
