Madison is very lucky to have survived yesterday. She had the WORST fit I have ever seen from her in 5 long years. I know, she is still adjusting, but oh lawrdy, she is lucky I didn't put her up to the highest (or lowest, heck, I would have paid someone)bidder.
Here is how it went down.
Madison has to learn a bible verse each week. Yesterday she came home with her first one.
[In the beginning, God created the heavens and earth. Genesis 1:1] So with just a little fight she learned it pretty quickly. She was off and running, or maybe just playing. She asked for some TV. After the show was over, I muted the TV just to have her recite it and maybe commit it to memory. OH MY GOODNESS! SHE LOST IT! She started throwing herself on the ground, screaming and crying, and kicking her feet. Then when I wouldn't un mute the TV (she still didn't tell me, or at least attempt the verse) She came over, picked up the remote, and threw it on the couch, and there were two cozy covers (for beer) that Randy brought home from the games. She threw those and almost hit me. Now if you know her, you know this is seriously not her. She kept screaming that she wanted her daddy. (they seem to do that a lot when he isn't home and they get in trouble) So I called him. Unfortunately for him, he answered. I fully expected him to be in the air and get his answering machine. So he had to listen to the fit. He I am sure was not too happy. She did finally calm down and Madison returned. For about 10 minutes, I seriously thought she was replaced with Rosemary's Baby (which I have never actually seen or read, but know the idea.) I am surprised smoke wasn't coming out of her ears. Needless to say she was in bed by 7, asleep by 7:15 and didn't wake up until I woke her at 7. It seems like I have already done my time in school. Lucky us, we get to do it all again. Oh please get easier, please get easier, please...

I hate fits like that! They drive me crazy. Holly is more likely than Julia to throw one, but Julia's still able, too. Oliver videoed it once. Julia deleted it later. And even though it's usually in part because they're tired or hungry - it's still aggravating!
That's funny that Oliver videotaped Julia's fit!
I am sure she Madison is just holding it all together all day at school and then just falls apart at home where it is a "safe" environment. I remember feeling that out of control rage as a teenager and I wonder if it is the same feeling. She knows she is being crazy/irrational, but just can't stop herself. I feel badly for all of you! I am sure she will adjust and things will calm down....but in the meantime....I say buy yourself some wine!
Wow...those are awful I hate those. Mikey does that every once in a while...your kitchen is going to be awesome. P.S. I love your washer and dryer.
Gosh, I never thought to videotape Salem doing such a thing; but now, it doesn't sound like such a bad idea!!
I know, it is THE most frustrating thing ever when your child acts out of line and not like their normal selves. It's days like that when Salem pulls some crap that I wish I wasn't pregnant..... because I would definitely be driven to drink!!!
New Venetian Gold (Keystone) is the color of our granite and I have to say that I'm really pleased with it! It isn't toooo dark or toooo light...just perfect in my opinion! Have you made your decision yet? Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. You'll have to let us know what you end up going with!
Oh My!!!!
Its the transition!!! really, it is...
Nobody can be really, really good ALL of the TIME. She just held it in too long and then one little straw broke the camel's back...Just be glad she finally lost it AT HOME and NOT at school!
Poor Madison and Poor you!
