My baby isn't a baby anymore.

It's official, she is in kindergarten. I am a mother of school aged children. How is that possible?
A small narration of photos.
Randy brought all of these home after his workout.
There were red ones for Madison
Yellow ones for Cait
And red and yellow ones for me.
As we were getting ready to leave.

My little ham. Oh my doesn't she look adorable?
Oh to have hair like that.
Do you think she has had a few photos taken of her?

Daddy was home to see the big first day.
Now this is my favorite picture. Not because it is good of either of us, but if you look at the truck, you can see Randy holding the camera and sweet Cait clutched to his leg.
We went in and Randy and Cait came up too to the classroom. After they left, Madison's teacher started collecting the supplies (extra glue sticks, tissues, Clorox wipes, etc) then we talked for a few minutes and then Mrs. Morris said okay moms, so and so is waiting for you in the conference room. In my mind I was screaming "OH NO, I didn't prepare Madison for this." You see, I had told her I was going to stay with her the first day. She is pretty good with change, as long as it is spelled out for her before hand. Well, the teacher said give mom a hug (to the whole class) Madison came over, gave me a hug and didn't let go. That is her way of letting me know that she is trying to stay strong, but most likely, tears are on the way. When I peeled her off of me, she was crying. Not one of those, being defiant cries, but the I am really sad and my heart is breaking cries. You know the one that produces a lump in my throat the size of Mt. McKinley? I did manage to keep my tears at bay (just barely). She did fine after I left (which I knew she would) and I am hoping she is going to have a good day tomorrow. She goes from 8:15 to 11:30. I have a doctor's appointment, so Randy will have Cait and may have to pick up Madison (depending on how long mine takes) I am anxious to see how she does. The teacher seems really nice as well as the aid.
I had a meeting tonight, so Randy put them in the bath and bed. While in the bath, Madison looked at the Randy and said, can I get out, I want to go to bed (remember, she was only there from 1-3 today) She does have a rest time during the day for something like 20-30 minutes. They just have to put their heads on their desks, but they are able to bring in a little stuffed animal or a little pillow to cushion their heads. I am guessing that could put her over the edge the first couple of weeks. I will be getting letters sent home, "Your daughter is too tired and needs to go to bed earlier. " I am then going to have to reply, "She already goes to bed between 7 and 7:30. Any earlier and she will miss dinner"

OH well, things will get easier, I know this. Tomorrow is her first chapel. The parents are able and encouraged to attend, so I have some time before my appointment and I think I will go check that out. Thursday is her first FULL day of school, I think I may try to tell her to rest in the car on the 20+ minute ride home so she can make it the rest of the evening.

Congartulations to all!!! Especially to mom who kept her tears at bay! (I don't know HOW you did that!)

It is going to be great! How can anything not go fabulously when she looks that adorable in her uniform?

Life does become a bit (a lot) different from here on out, but it is a great ride! My only complaint is that it all goes by too quickly. I guess all of us moms and dads feel that way, though :(

I cant wai to hear all about the antics of kindergarten!

I bet today was tougher on you than Madison. Each day will get better for both of you. Madison looks absolutely adoreable in her uniform. I'm a sucker for plaid.

How sweet of Randy to bring flowers!

I LOVE the uniform. It is so cute. The whole thing sounds so emotional that you made me cry over here. I know life is going to be crazy as you guys adjust, but you will!

Madison is so darn adorable. While I was reading your story, I got a lump in my throat too. She is just growing up too fast. I feel like soon your blog will read, "Madison Graduates from High School".
Give her a big hug from me.
Love you!
