What four year old soccer is like

*A swarm of bees flying through a park
*A comedy show (there seems to be more comedy than an actual sport)
*A free chance to push kids and not get in trouble
*A LOT OF TEARS
*A LONG HOUR.
*A lot of running.

It was harder getting her dressed and ready to go than the actual hour of soccer. Now, I have seen many a soccer game in my time, but I have never actually played. Getting her equipment was quite an experience. I knew I had seen a soccer store in town, and headed out to find it. Of course this is Wednesday, and the soccer was on Saturday. Nothing like waiting until almost the last minute:) Anyway, I called my neighbor who informed me the shop had gone out of business. So where does anyone turn when they need something...Of course I went to Target. I thought I was suppose to get shin guards. No one told me there were going to be 5 different types of shin guards to choose from. I had to ask another mom who was buying soccer gear to understand the difference and sizes. Then she needed shorts. I couldn't send my little girl to her first soccer game and not have soccer shorts. So with shin guards, soccer shorts, soccer socks, and a new water bottle in hand, I headed to the register. But wait, don't you think she needs a special soccer bag to carry everything in? I did, so I found one of those. SO cute. Then I found the best thing.. Athletic flip flops. Hello, do you realize how cute she was in these?

She was the first one from her green team to sign in so she got to pick her number, she picked four

So after I got her dressed, it was time to head out there. They did a few drills with their own balls and then had a 10 minute game. That was comical. There are two boys, one from each team who REALLY know what they are doing. You can totally tell the parents were soccer people. They are over there yelling at them to get in the game. Then there is my daughter who got pushed down, more than once and I am not sure she was even able to kick the ball. Oh well, right.
Posing with all the gear. Her shorts are so long they met her shin guards.

Daddy giving a little advise

Water break!
Madison is right in the middle.

This is what Cait did. She took the cones out of the bin and lined them all in a row by color.

Yay, picture of mommy!
When I was talking up the soccer so she would want to go, she looked at me and said "Can I have my hair curled to play soccer?" She is such a girly girl, I love it.

Tracy,
Remember, it is better to look good than to score a goal...ask David Beckham. And apparently, having your hair curled helps. Those pics are adorable of both kiddos. Happy soccer season!

Too cute! I love watching little kids play soccer. Is there anything cuter? Great job picking out all of the gear, and the curly hair...brilliant!
Cait made me laugh with the cone thing.
Thanks for sharing!!!

Tracy, your girls are simply gorgeous! I meant to comment about their photo shoot from your previous post to congratulate you on such a successful session to produce prints as good as those.

Just goes with the territory when your girls are strikingly adorable! And about your (maybe) OCD tendencies... I'm totally loving that your mind freaks over order and planning just like I do. It is significant! Now go and curl your daughter's hair with perfectly cascading tendrils! She has some running to do!
