Tis the season to....

PROCRASTINATE!
I am not a procrastinator by nature. I hate that feeling of being rushed or late and stressed. Well, I am hot and heavy into Christmas shopping. Since it is too hard to shop with two toddlers, I did most of my shopping on line. So here is the thing, I am totally stressing as to if they are going be sent to me in time for me to reship them. I know, you are asking why didn't I just ship to the person? I wouldn't have been able to separate and write who got what and the site wouldn't individually wrap each gift. So, don't mind my panicking, but you can bet I will be back to my old ways next year... HAVING ALL OF MY CHRISTMAS SHOPPING DONE BEFORE THANKSGIVING (maybe I will start in January? Is that pushing it a little too much?). It makes the holidays so much nicer for me!

Oh and I bought two presents and put them away for safe keeping...Could anyone tell me where that is?

This is exactly how I feel! And I did the same with shipping some and not shipping some. I've vowed to start earlier next year, but I'm afraid if I start buying early I'll just keep on buying and we'll end up with TOO much stuff! Do you have a secret for not doing that?

I write down everyone I buy for (and an extra list for who I will buy for if I have extra cash!) I write down an amount that I want to spend on each one. Then I keep that list handy throughout the season and write all my notes of ideas for each person on that. Then I highlight what I got, what I spent and figure out what i have left. That way when I am at the limit, I go on to the next person and don't buy too much for one. I also try to find a universal gift that doesn't cost that much to fill in the last few dollars I usually have left over.

I need to take advice from you with the whole list and amount thing. I make the mistake of buying WAY to far in advance; so when the time actually comes, I end up buying that person even more things. I admire how organized you are!

We have lost presents before and found them a year later. We mailed some to my sis in law one year early and she found them in her closet 5 months later! She was preggers when we mailed them, so I cut her some slack :0)

Ugh. I am totally wayyyy behind this year too. I am starting to realize that it isn't the end of the world if MY present doesn't arrive in time. People will have other presents to open and if mine arrives a day or two late...then goody! The celebration continues!
