Blackberry pie

Dagnabit, I forgot to take a picture before it went out my door.

I made a blackberry pie today (from scratch, the crust too!) For TJ for his birthday. He had asked me over the weekend where his pie was with all the berries (and believe me I have a ton!) After establishing that he really did like blackberry pie, I searched the Internet for a recipe. (Mainly because I packed my cookbooks and don't know where they are) I decided on a double pie crust recipe. You know the one that has a pie crust over the top. the other ones, (which are more like fresh blackberry pies and not cooked) all called for blackberry jello. I do not keep that at my house for as a staple (cherry, strawberry and grape, yes, blackberry jello, no) I told Renee she needed to call me and let me know how it is. I may even have enough blackberries to make another one. It called for 6 cups, but I think I put closer to 8 cups. I prefer to have a thicker pie. I do that with my apple pie too. I like them to be heaping. Maybe I can talk Renee into snapping a picture before it is gone.

You have just crossed over the line to KRAZEEEEEE. You are making pies FROM SCRATCH, nonetheless, in your BASEMENT? Do you hear me? This is not NORMAL. I think Betty Crocker or Martha Stewart has taken over your body!!!!
