So I spoke too soon.

Today was relatively quiet. Until about 5:45pm. It is never a good sign when Randy yells down "T can you bring me a band aid?" Randy was nailing in a nail and hit his pinkie nail instead. It looks horrible. He said i jinxed it because I wrote in an earlier post that we all still had all appendages. The dumb @$$ wouldn't even stop. HELLO, have you ever heard of icing it to get the swelling down? I guess I shouldn't complain, he is a man on a mission. Randy's dad (also Randy) coming out was best thing that could have happened. I know I SO wouldn't have been that good of a helper to him. Big Randy has done this kind of thing before and they seem to work well together.

The girls and I were invited to spend the morning with Katie and Becca. We were more than happy to accept that request. Next, the girls had gymnastics and by the time we got home, the boys had run out of lumber gone to Home Depot and the house was quiet. I wasn't going to put the girls down for a nap, but seized the opportunity when the HOUSE WAS QUIET. I have been a little mopey today, but I seem to always get that way when my living space is not organized (it is the OCD rearing its nasty little head.) So while they were napping, I tried to make our kitchen, laundry room, family room dining room, and play room, better known as the basement in some kind of order. It is actually going pretty well. I should take a pictures of the basement, but I don't have pre shots and I don't know if it would do any good. I am counting down the time frame until bedtime because my girls are UNCONTROLLABLY EMOTIONAL. I am not sure why, but I do not deal with it well. I am wondering if it is a full moon or something.

Randy and the remodel update. We not have a frame up for the powder room wall. As we speak the boys are putting up the walls for the mudroom. He wants to have the walls framed in because he is going to take a weekend hiatus because it is a guard weekend. I have ordered the cabinets. All except one section off to the side. That portion contains the counter top the desk will sit on and the beverage refrigerator. One guy came to give a quote on the floor. Randy is wanting to get another estimate. Who knows if he will get around to that. I am going to try and get a picture of Randy's finger if he will let me.

Tomorrow I have a dentist appointment and then we are going with Renee, Meghan and Meghan's cousin Mary to get fitted for uniforms. All the uniforms in this area come from the same company, so I figured it would be a good experience to go with a veteran.

I should probably take some more pictures, but the 2x4 walls are not too impressive. Maybe after the drywall is up.

Here is my list (boy I love lists) of must haves in a remodel.
(I am not a big fan of eating out. I would prefer to cook at home, so the first couple were my most important)

*a crock pot
*a microwave
*toaster oven (I cooked full meals in one for 6 months when I lived in Korea. They don't use ovens there. I got pretty good at cooking AND baking in one)
*a TV
*a monitor (we are in the basement and the girls go to bed on the second floor.)
*good friends to come hang out away from the pounding.
*LOTS of band aids, neosporin, peroxide, and that white medical tape.
*a good copy of Pollyanna to remember to keep my spirits up and play the glad game (thanks Steph for reminding me)

Ugh, yuck infected bug bites and nails in fingers. Oliver hit his thumb with the hammer while laying bricks in the back in NC. He was also calm - but he did drive himself to the ER for it. After awhile. Men. Sounds like you're making progress. Maybe my own funky mood is coming from my messy house. I feel for you there! At least you have experience using the crock pot and toaster as major cooking appliances! That's a plus!

Just reading about all you have to do and what you're going through makes me tired! Like I've told you before, I wish I had your patience!

Oh no! The plagues continue! Water, then insects, now appendages!

I'm glad you're at least seeing progress in the remodel. Unforunately, none of my living spaces have any order to them and it pisses me off too! But not enough to skip naps to fix it!
